Introducing Abhik Mitra, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Code42. Competitive intelligence and tech evangelist, Abhik brings 10+ years of experience in enterprise technology and is passionate about creating compelling content and communications to demonstrate strengths of tech solutions. 

What do you enjoy most about working at Code42?

Our culture. This is one of the companies where you wake up in the morning and genuinely look forward to working with the people everyday, along with continuous learning. 

What excites you most about your work?

The people I get to work with and the customers we are able to help. I’ve always been attracted to challenges and the ability to problem solve. What excites me most about my work is that everyday is unique with the ability to brainstorm out-of-the-box solutions. It helps that I get to work with a dedicated group of people that are also willing to step in and be part of that process.

Tell us about your favorite memory at Code42 

Every single instance of a sales win is a favorite memory of mine because it truly is a team effort. I’d have to say moving into the new Washington building (Minneapolis) was also a fun memory! It was literally like being a kid in a candy store (it just so happened that we had real candy as part of our snack room!)

How has Code42 enabled you to maintain a sense of connection, while working from home?

Apart from regularly-scheduled meetings, there are numerous virtual get-togethers and occasional in-person meetups that have helped maintain the face-to-face connection. Sometimes meeting to talk about non-work-related issues is all it takes. 

What personal goals do you have that Code42 can help you achieve?

I want to continue learning to master my craft in product marketing. I want these skills to help Code42 and any future companies I am a part of. 

What have you learned recently?

I’ve learned that the unique problem we solve (Insider Risk) is more prevalent than ever, even within our own company. In a job market turning over rapidly, this is a problem organizations must wake up to and tackle. 

What about the security industry inspires you as a marketer?

It’s ever-changing. The security industry is moving like a meteorite. It’s like playing chess at 90 miles an hour in terms of marketing. You have to be innovative, dare to think differently, make moves no one can anticipate but also have to play defense when the need arises. Ultimately, the industry is all about protecting people and data and that mission in itself is an inspiration to always be the best!

How do you bring your full self to work everyday ?

By giving myself 3 key goals I want to achieve in support of the company. I review these goals every week and make sure they are aligned to our corporate vision and strategy. I think a big part of bringing one’s full self to work is being comfortable coming into an environment that is willing to learn, be flexible, and ultimately have a sincere and vested interest in making you a better person. Code42 checks off all these values!
