Code42 CEO Matthew Dornquast Recognized as Ernst & Young (EY) Entrepreneur of The Year™ 2014 Award Winner in the Upper Midwest

Award recognizes entrepreneurial excellence in Technology Solutions category

Code42, the leader in endpoint data protection and management, today announced that Matthew Dornquast, chief executive officer and co-founder of Code42, received the Ernst & Young (EY) Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2014 Award in the Technology Solutions category for the Upper Midwest.

The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Dornquast was selected by an independent panel of judges; the award was presented at a special gala event at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis on June 11.

“It’s humbling to be included with these inspiring entrepreneurs, and I am sure all would agree success is a function of the team, not the individual,” said Dornquast. “The growth and product innovation driven by the Code42 team speaks for itself; when working with such an incredible group of people, the sky is the limit in terms of what you can do.”

Based in Minneapolis, Code42 is the endpoint data protection and management company that provides secure, integrated file sharing and backup for consumers and businesses. Code42 provides technology that IT professionals trust, efficiently connecting employees with the information they need on the devices they love. The company—founded in 2001 by Dornquast, Vice President of Product Mitch Coopet and Vice President of Engineering Brian Bispala—today employs more than 400 people worldwide.

Now in its 28th year, the award program has honored the inspirational leadership of entrepreneurs such as Howard Schultz of Starbucks Coffee Company; Pierre Omidyar of eBay, Inc.; and Mindy Grossman of HSN. Recent US national winners include Reid Hoffman and Jeff Weiner of LinkedIn; Hamdi Ulukaya, founder of Chobani; and 2013 winner Hamid Moghadam, CEO and chairman of the board of Prologis.

As an Upper Midwest award winner, Dornquast is now eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur Of The Year 2014 national program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Overall Award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on November 15, 2014. The awards are the culminating event of the EY Strategic Growth Forum®, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
