Code42 Wins Three ‘Top 10 Black Unicorn Awards’ During Black Hat USA Conference 2021

Minneapolis —

Code42, the Insider Risk Management leader, announced it has been awarded three Black Unicorn Awards for 2021 during the Black Hat conference. Code42 was named one of the Top 10 Black Unicorns for 2021 and Jadee Hanson, the company's CIO and CISO, was recognized as one of the Top 10 Women in Cybersecurity as well as a Top 10 Chief Information Security Officer.

The awards are conducted by Cyber Defense Magazine and honor innovative providers of cybersecurity products and services. The term "Black Unicorn" signifies a cybersecurity company that has the potential to reach a $1 billion market value as determined by private or public investment and these awards showcase those companies, helping transform the industry and incredible future potential in the cybersecurity marketplace.

"Our team is laser focused on helping security teams protect an organization's most valuable data while enabling the organization to collaborate and innovate at digital speed," said Joe Payne, Code42 president and CEO. "These accolades celebrate the innovative approach to insider risk management that our customers and partners are embracing during these unprecedented times of a remote and revolving workforce. I am also proud that our CISO, Jadee Hanson, has been recognized for her pioneering role in IRM."

Code42 has experienced record growth and industry recognition over the past few years, as it delivers on its commitment to help transform data security and bring greater awareness and solutions to the insider risk management movement. In September 2020, the company launched Code42 Incydr™, a new data risk detection and response product that helps companies manage the growing Insider Risk issue. Incydr enables more thorough protection from data exposure and file exfiltration that could not only lead to the great loss of intellectual property, source code and trade secrets, but also prevent the loss of millions of dollars of revenue and the very viability of a company itself.

In addition to the launch of Incydr, Code42's cybersecurity business has experienced 150% growth in 2020, with the company expecting another 100% growth in the year ahead. Importantly, Code42 was identified as a Representative Vendor in the Gartner 2020 Market Guide for Insider Risk Management Solutions.

"We're excited to name Code42 as a winner among an elite group of cybersecurity industry leaders in our annual Black Unicorn awards," noted Judges Robert R. Ackerman Jr. of www.allegiscyber.com, David DeWalt of www.nightdragon.com, Dr. Peter Stephenson of Cyber Defense Labs and Gary Miliefsky of www.cyberdefensemediagroup.com.

Code42 earned a number of cybersecurity industry awards over the last year. The company was named as a Top 25 Cybersecurity Company by The Software Report, a Gold Winner in the 12th Annual 2020 Golden Bridge Business and Innovation Awards for Data Protection Innovation, the winner of the Cybersecurity Tekne award from the Minnesota Tech Association and as a finalist for the 2021 SC Awards. Code42 and its Incydr product were honored for the unique way they help customers speed detection and response to insider risks to data.
