Code42 Names Mike Stankey to Board of Directors

Enterprise cloud executive brings more than two decades of experience to Code42 as company continues strong momentum in the endpoint data protection and governance market

Minneapolis — Sep 3, 2014

Code42, the leader in endpoint data protection and management, today announced that Mike Stankey, president and chief operating officer (COO) of Workday, Inc. (NYSE: WDAY), has been elected to serve on the company’s board of directors.

“Today’s IT organizations are challenged with not only properly securing corporate information, but embracing technology that accelerates the productivity of their employees,” said Stankey. “Code42 meets this modern thinking head on, empowering enterprises to protect and manage endpoint data where it exists—on the edge—while helping workers become more efficient. I’m excited to lend my expertise to a company that shows such market insight and promise.”

Since 2009, Stankey has served as president and COO for Workday, a leading provider of enterprise cloud applications for human resources and finance. Prior to Workday, Stankey was an operating partner at venture capital firm Greylock Partners, overseeing a portfolio focused on next-generation enterprise technologies. He also previously served as chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of PolyServe—where he was instrumental in negotiating the company’s 2007 sale to HP—and held senior roles at PeopleSoft, including senior vice president of North American sales.

“Mike has done an incredible job scaling Workday to its category leadership position, adding value for customers during critical growth cycles,” said Matthew Dornquast, co-founder and CEO of Code42. “In the past two years, we have aggressively expanded our global footprint and built an impressive team that includes our recent hire of Amazon.com treasurer Jason Bristow as chief financial officer. Mike’s experience and acumen will be invaluable to us as we continue to navigate our own hyper growth.”

Stankey joins Code42 board of directors Ping Li and Kirk Bowman of Accel Partners, and Michael Gorman of Split Rock Partners.
