Meet Enterprise Corp., a company in a fast-growing and competitive market with a big workforce to match.
Bill's New Adventure
Bill, an employee of Enterprise Corp answers his telephone.
It’s Super Corp., Enterprise Corp.’s biggest competitor, calling with the job offer Bill has been waiting for: VP of sales! But Bill doesn’t want to start a new job without any accounts.
Bill's Big Delete
Before resigning, Bill decides to download all the information from his computer to an external hard drive. And because he doesn’t want his future replacement to compete with him for business, Bill deletes all the files from his computer. Poof!
IT is Alerted
Bill’s actions trigger an alert from Code42 on Andy’s screen. Andy works in Enterprise Corp.’s IT security department.
“This is odd,” Andy thinks. “Is there a reason Bill is downloading all his account information to an external drive and wiping his hard drive?”
Fiona is Informed
Andy decides to email Fiona, Bill’s manager. She should know what’s going on and will be able to verify Bill’s actions.
Fiona reads Andy’s email and realizes right away that something is very wrong–the sales team is never allowed to take account information off the central system.
Fiona calls Bill into her office and asks him to bring along his external drive.
Bill is Busted!
He hands over the drive and is dismissed on the spot. IT easily restores the data.
