BEST PART ABOUT WORKING AT CODE 42

“ Growing and inspiring the Minnesota tech community. ”

FOUNDING PARTNER, CEO

Like many of his colleagues at Code 42 Software, Matthew sat in front of an Apple computer as a child and hasn't ventured far from an Apple product ever since. Nurturing his natural technical acuity at the University of Minnesota, his professional pursuits centered around delivering pragmatic, real-world solutions for real-world challenges. At his first company, Matthew provided comprehensive IT support and software solutions to his clients as Founder / Owner of Microworks. Later, he advanced technological innovation in the creative space as CTO at Fallon McElligott and architected new technologies as Chief Scientist at Webhelp. There he forged the personal and professional ties that later evolved into Code 42 Software.

At Code 42, Matthew drove a small, talented team to envision, architect and develop the wildly-popular automatic backup solution: CrashPlan.

In those rare moments when he is not dreaming up the next cool thing for CrashPlan, Matthew relishes time with his family, snowboarding, running, weight-lifting, games, and researching how to get flying cars off the ground.

BEST PART ABOUT WORKING AT CODE 42

“Accomplishing challenging work.”

FOUNDING PARTNER, CTO

Brian came to programming a little later in life: he didn’t start until the Apple IIc came out when he was in grade school. But he caught up in a hurry while attending the University of Minnesota (BS Mechanical Engineering). After college, Brian went to work for Accenture where he worked to design, build and deploy large software systems. Later, at Webhelp, he worked with Mitch and Matthew as a senior software developer. He is listed along with Mitch and Matthew as an inventor on Webhelp's WAEF patent.

Co-founding partner of Code 42, Brian was there at the beginning: designing, architecting, engineering CrashPlan from the ground up. As a result, he’s been engaged in all aspects of CrashPlan, from concept to implementation. It’s not surprising that Brian gets great satisfaction from completing a complex project and seeing everything work as designed.

He enjoys spending time with family, skiing (both snow and water), snowboarding and traveling.

After receiving his CSCI from the University of Minnesota, Mitch led the software development team at Imation Internet Studio/Imaginet, where he was responsible for defining and evolving technical direction and best practices in software engineering.

Founding Code 42 Software, Mitch combines comprehensive technical knowledge with his natural leadership abilities to contribute as architect, product manager and lead designer.

He is listed as an Inventor on Webhelp's WAEF patent and Jumpnode's Network Monitoring patent. Away from Code 42, Mitch's personal interests are as diverse as his professional ones: fatherhood, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, kick-boxing, snowboarding, powerlifting, swimming, and reading classic science fiction.

“Great people, great products.”

CHIEF REVENUE OFFICER

While the rest of Code 42's leadership embraced the early days of end-user computing, Kris' education followed a more traditional route. Starting out as disk drive design engineer, Kris soon segued into sales, including direct, channel, international and government. He also made significant contributions in product management, marketing and corporate management. Before coming to Code 42, Kris was president and CEO of Marketing Bridge, a SaaS-based Channel Automation company, and Jasc Software (Paint Shop Pro).

While Kris thrives on making the sale and helping the company reach its goals, he gets great deal of satisfaction working with team members to help them reach their professional goals.

Away from Code 42, Kris loves outdoor pursuits including biking, fishing, hockey and hunting.
